MailTickler.com

About

MailTickler.com is a tool I wrote so I could forward emails to a future point in time when they would be more useful to me. It's a way of saying "I want this email to go away and come back to me at X time in the future, because that's when it will be useful for me to see it." For example, if somebody emails me saying they're going to do something for me the day after tomorrow, the email isn't useful to me right now but I will want to be reminded of it the day after tomorrow, so I can just forward the email to mail@mailtickler.com and put "2d" on the first line, which tells mailtickler to email it back to me in two days.

Anyone can use MailTickler.com. It comes with no guarantees but is something I use every day and find very useful. So please feel free to use it if you feel it might be useful and let me know if you have any feedback.

Usage

Send/forward a mail to tickler@mailtickler.com and on the first line of the email, specify when you want the email sent back to you.

Ways of specifying the date/time you want the email sent back are:

19 - Send the mail back at 7pm. This is the "next" 7pm, so if we've passed 7pm today, the mail will be sent back at 7pm tomorrow.
19:05 - Send the mail back at 7.05pm.
15/12/2010 - Send the mail back at 9am (UK time) on the 15th of December 2010
15/12 or 15th Dec or 15 Dec - Send the mail back at 9am on the next 15th of December (which would be next year if we've already passed it this year)
15th - Send the mail back at 9am on the 15th of this month, or the 15th of next month if we've already passed it this month)
3d or 3 d- Send the mail back in 3 days from now, at around this time
2w or 2 w- Send the mail back in 2 weeks from now, at around this time
4h or 4 h- Send the mail back 4 hours from now
tomorrow or tmr- Send the mail back at 9am tomorrow
Wednesday or wed- Send the mail back at 9am on Wednesday (next Wednesday if we've already passed it this week)
